(facebook) Madrid-based, and formed in 1998 by Ricardo and Javier de Pablo, Autumnal is considered one of the cornerstones of the iberian doom metal both by fans and media, a must hear and compulsory reference within the local doom trends and genre, and increasing as well their fan-base with each release and live performance. Since 1998, Autumnal has released 3 EPs and 1 full-lenght album, slowly building a catalog of works, most of them self-founded and self-produced, that have positively attracted and submerged people in their athmospheric universe. In 2006 the release of "Grey Universe" came, the band's first full-lengh album, released via Xtreem Music, receiving the highest praise from worldwide media and fans, and being the key for events in different countries (Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal...) with bands like Anathema, Katatonia, Morgion, Draconian, Officium Triste, Isole, etc.
Due to the intensity of their shows together with the deepest sensations transmitted, Autumnal have been featured in metal magazines as Rock Hard, Metal Hammer and among countless webzines.
Their upcoming, second full-lenght "The End of the Third Day" will fill their future with interesting events and new horizon to look at. This work will demolish hearts and sould with the tenure of a doomed hammer, among tears.

Geschichte
Die Band wurde im Jahr 1998 von dem Schlagzeuger Ricardo und dem Sänger und Gitarristen Javier de Pablo gegründet. Nachdem die Band mehrere Demos veröffentlicht hatte, erschien 2006 über Xtreem Music das Debütalbum Grey Universe. Der Veröffentlichung folgten Auftritte in Irland, den Niederlanden und Portugal zusammen mit Bands wie Anathema, Katatonia, Morgion, Draconian, Officium Triste und Isole. 2014 erschien das nächste Album The End of the Third Day. Hierauf ist auch eine Coverversion des Supertramp-Liedes Don’t Leave Me Now enthalten.
Stil
Laut Sebastian Schilling vom Rock Hard orientiert sich die Band nicht an Black Sabbath, sondern am Doom-Metal-Stil der 1990er Jahre. Schilling fand, dass die Musik der Band an Tiamat, Paradise Lost und My Dying Bride erinnert. Ricardo de Pablo gab im Interview mit Schilling an, dass diese Bands Einfluss auf Autumnal hatten. Die Mitglieder würden jedoch auch andere Bands wie Kansas, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp, Anathema, Cathedral, Officium Triste, Mastodon und Converge hören. Eine Ausgabe zuvor hatte Schilling das Album rezensiert. Er ordnete das Album dem Doom- und Gothic-Metal zu. Die Gruppe habe sich an Bands der 1990er Jahre wie Type O Negative, Paradise Lost und Tiamat orientiert.
