Kirsten Morrison (GB)

(official homepage) Kirsten Morrison is a singer, composer and violinist who has worked as a musician in several fields: as a composer for film and tv programmes, commercials, radio plays and theatre, and as a singer, songwriter, arranger and backing musician.

She has performed as an opera singer and composer with several companies, including the Queen of the Night in an alternative version of the Magic Flute directed by film-maker Martin Jones. Her operas “Flood” about climate change with film by Frannie Armstrong, “Songs of Alchemy” about alchemist John Dee and “Eros and Psyche” were performed at the Arcola theatre and at the Actor’s Church in Covent Garden. She also collaborated with New Opera Hero and is a co-founder of Eclectic Opera which has performed at the Kings Head in Islington and the Bridewell Theatre amongst other venues.

She also performs her own songs influenced by poets such as Blake, Rossetti, Siddall and Taylor Coleridge, with appearances at the Latitude, Stroud and Moseley festivals as well as at various venues in London. She has performed with Pete Murphy at the O2 and is currently performing with and supporting Lene Lovich on a European tour...
