Loyal fans, concerts all over the world, chart placements, cover stories in music magazines: Charismatic songwriter, singer, guitarist and producer Michael Sele has achieved a lot with his band THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA.
For fifteen years THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA have been celebrated not only in their homeland and neighboring countries, but throughout Europe and especially in Central and South America, so that their tours have taken them halfway around the globe. More than 250 concerts in 25 countries are already behind the band.
Attempts to find the right "pigeonhole" for THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA are always doomed to failure, as Michael Sele's songwriting has constantly evolved with each release and sometimes even reinvented itself.
Over the years, a distinctive and fascinating mixture of melancholic wave, warm blues and earthy folk has emerged, rather dark, also yearning but full of confidence, never dreary or resigned.
Michael Sele writes dreamy-dark lyrics and music that can take you to lofty heights as well as to abysmal depths. The listener is always accompanied by his velvety and almost comforting voice, which also leads through the last two studio albums "Flying With The Owl" and "Skeleton Dreams". Albums full of thoughtfulness and infinite beauty.
The songs are full of vital energy and intensity, sometimes powerful, sometimes spherical, sometimes almost virginal, reduced to the absolute minimum, but always powerful and always of poetic depth.
The band's successful live performances are characterized by Michael Sele's extraordinary presence, supported by the passionate performance of TBOG veteran Mac Vinzens on drums. The band is currently joined on stage by Andi Zuber on bass and Daniel Manhart on keyboards.

Seit fünfzehn Jahren werden THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA nicht nur in ihrer Heimat und benachbarten Ländern gefeiert, sondern in ganz Europa sowie besonders in Mittel- und Südamerika, sodass ihre Tourneen sie schon um den halben Globus geführt haben. Mehr als 250 Konzerte in 25 Ländern liegen bereits hinter der Band.
Versuche, die passende «Schublade» für THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA zu finden, sind immer wieder zum Scheitern verurteilt, da sich das Songwriting von Michael Sele mit jeder Veröffentlichung stetig weiterentwickelt und sich teilweise gar neu erfunden hat. Über die Jahre ist dabei eine unverkennbare und faszinierende Mixtur aus melancholischem Wave, warmem Blues und erdigem Folk entstanden, eher dunkel, auch sehnsuchtsvoll aber voller Zuversicht, niemals trist oder resignierend.
Michael Sele schreibt träumerisch-düstere Texte und Musik, die einen in luftige Höhen genauso wie in abgründige Tiefen entführen können.
Dabei begleitet die Hörerschaft stets seine samtweiche und geradezu tröstende Stimme, welche auch durch die beiden letzten Studioalben «Flying With The Owl» und «Skeleton Dreams» geleitet. Alben voller Nachdenklichkeit und unendlicher Schönheit. Die Songs sind voller Lebensenergie und Intensität, mal kraftvoll, mal sphärisch, mal beinahe jungfräulich, aufs absolute Minimum reduziert, dabei aber immer druckvoll und immer von poetischer Tiefe.
Die erfolgreichen Live-Auftritte der Band prägt Michael Sele durch seine aussergewöhnliche Präsenz, unterstützt von der leidenschaftlichen Performance des TBOG Urgesteins Mac Vinzens am Schlagzeug. Mit auf der Bühne dabei sind aktuell Andi Zuber am Bass und neu an den Keyboards Daniel Manhart.
