(facebook) A man, shaken by his demons, decides to use the only channel to fight them: his music. The two major forces driving his songs are the deep passion for sounds and lifestyle of the 80s and the definite need to express. Completed by a guitar player, a drummer and a musical anarchist, digging all sorts of synthetic instruments, IMAGINARY WAR comes to life. Big pop songs are founded in industrial soundscapes and driven by the quartet’s love for an intense rock show. It’s at the same time disturbing and beautiful. IMAGINARY WAR are walking the tightrope between ultimate downfall and final relief.
Whereas the sounds of the 80s acclaimed their renaissance in the mainstream, IMAGINARY WAR find their inspiration in the stoic beats and sounds of the first analogue and digital machines and imbed them in a contemporary band-sound. Selected synthesizer-sounds can be core of a song as well as emotional means of expression. With attention for details, arrangements are constructed and merge into comprehensive song concepts. IMAGINARY WAR master the challenge to convert cold digital sounds to emotion. Rock drums are kept natural and played live to give the songs their rough foundation. Soulful guitar lines add their vintage sounds as another important trademark.
In July 2012 the debut album REPLACING THE GHOSTS will be released. IMAGINARY WAR still count on the full-length format as they are not striving for the short hype. They want to keep their rough edges, so REPLACING THE GHOSTS is not a pop album. Big hymns and driving beats are broken by the dark sides of life. Through twelve songs, IMAGINARY WAR are living on the edge but always save their neck in the end.
