“Electronic Brain” is the brainchild of Los Angeles based producer David Christian, who has made himself a name with numerous live shows in North America and Europe at important festivals like Maschinenfest, Schlagstrom (Berlin), Wave Gotik Treffen, Slimelight(UK), Planet Myer Day, and Storm Party(NL). The prolific musician has produced remixes for the likes of KMFDM, Leæther Strip, Wumpscut, and Terrorfakt on labels Industrial Strength, Metropolis, Dependent, and Alfa Matrix. There have also been well-received releases on HANDS Productions, Crunch Pod, and Rustblade.
Cervello Elettronico puts out his second album for HANDS, and it is surely branded by fears – logical or not – pursuing a darker and more aggressive direction than ever before. What remains is the crisp production and remarkable variation in beats and sounds, and yet this appears direct and almost simple, dominated by a tidal wave of bass heavy industrial beats, coming on with the force of a freight train. The brain controls the motor function; the electronic brain dissects that anatomy of movement with “Logical Fears”. Whether for an underground techno or a rhythm-geared industrial set, Cervello Elettronico provides quite some tasty club food!
David Christian’s 2013 HANDS album “Anima Meccanica” went down well with its coherent take at various influences from rhythmic noise to dub techno and IDM and spawned not only the DJ-friendly remix EP for HANDS, but also remixes by and collaborations with the likes of Swayzak and Blush Response followed. It’s not a far route from there to a more physical sound, and here you go: Big midtempo beats on “Logical Fears” and “Tone Deaf”, dry and repetitive force on “Black Matter”, “Choose Right” and “Retracted Statements”, evil distortion on “Divider” and “Memory Loss”, a tribal polyrhythm on “Stand your Ground”. All the time, there are melodic undercurrents buried deep within the tracks, but it’s only in “Spacial Differences” that they’re allowed to blossom in full, making this the most distinctly techno track of the album.
Staying clear of the 50-minute mark, “Logical Fears” feels perfectly concise, focused on the essentials. Fears are elementary, and so is this album!

Cervello Elettronico ist ein US-amerikanisches Projekt für elektronische Musik von David Christian aus Los Angeles, Kalifornien.
David Christian ist in Queens in New York City geboren und aufgewachsen. Im Jahr 2001 gründete David Christian - auch als DJ Snarf bekannt - das Musikprojekt Cervello Elettronico, damals noch in New York City lebend. Der Name ist der italienischen Redewendung für Computer entliehen, die wörtlich übersetzt elektronisches Gehirn bedeutet. Cervello Elettronico erstellte mehrere Demos und veröffentlichte mehrere EPs und verteilte diese über das Internet selbst, bevor er 2004 seinen ersten Liveauftritt hatte und Support-Touren für Manufatura und Terrorfakt durch Nordamerika gab. 2005 war Cervello Elettronico als Support für Terrorfakt, Ecraft und Mono No Aware erneut auf Tour durch Nordamerika. Dabei konnte er alle seine selbstgepressten CD-Rs verkaufen. Im März 2006 trat Cervello Elettronico beim C.O.M.A. Festival in Kanada auf. Im März 2007 veröffentlichte er mit "Negate The Instigator" sein Labeldebütalbum über Crunch Pod. David Christian legte danach weltweit in Clubs auf. Seitdem trat Cervello Elettronico weltweit auf und war unter anderem auch Support für Snog, Meat Beat Manifesto und Combichrist. Er trat an bekannten Orten wie dem Avalon in Los Angeles, im Slimelight in London und der Moritzbastei in Leipzig in Deutschland auf. Ende März 2007 spielte Cervello Elettronico beim Elektroanschlag Festival in Altenburg.
Im Jahr 2008 zog David Christian nach Hollywood in Los Angeles und begann mit der Arbeit an dem Album "Process of Elimination". Im August 2008 trat Cervello Elettronico beim Reverence Festival in Madison, Wisconsin und im Mai 2009 beim Kinetik Festival, dem Nachfolger des C.O.M.A. Festivals, auf. Am 27. Oktober 2009 veröffentlichte er das Album "Process of Elimination" erneut über Crunch Pod. Am 9. April 2010 veröffentlichte Cervello Elettronico das nächste Album "Bipolar" beim italienischen Label Rustblade. Am 27. April 2012 veröffentlichte das weißrussische Duo Suicide Inside das Album "Homicide" über Alfa Matrix. Auf der 3-CD-Version ist ein Remix von Cervello Elettronico enthalten. Im Juni 2013 veröffentlichte SANdBLASTING (Luca Torasso) das Album "Dread". Darauf ist ein Remix von Cervello Elettronico enthalten. Im August 2013 trat Cervello Elettronico beim Infest Festival in England auf. Am 21. Oktober 2013 folgte mit "Anima Meccanica" sein Albumdebüt beim Dortmunder Label Hands Productions. Am 11. Februar 2014 folgte ein Split-Album mit Marching Dynamics (Shane Talada). Im April 2016 trat Cervello Elettronico beim FORMS OF HANDS Festival auf. Am 22. Juli 2016 trat Cervello Elettronico mit iVardensphere, Cyanotic und Fractured Transmission im Complex in Glendale, Kalifornien auf. Ebenfalls 2016 folgte das Album "Logical Fears" erneut über Hands Productions. Weitere Festivals bei denen er bereits auftrat waren das Schlagstrom-Festival und der Planet Myer Day. Am 25. August 2017 folgte das Live-Album "Live in Brooklyn at Synthicide 2017" über Hands Productions. Ende April 2018 trat Cervello Elettronico erneut bei FORMS OF HANDS auf.
