Synapscape is a German recording duo specializing in the creation of dark noise, teknoid, and power electronics. It is a long-time act of Germany’s industrial music record label, Ant-Zen.
Synapscape was founded in 1994 by Philipp Münch (b. 1968) and Tim Kniep, who have been its only members. Münch’s musical history includes his formation of The Rorschach Garden in 1988, and in 1989 he was a founding member of the industrial band Ars Moriendi. This project’s demise in 1994 saw in turn Münch’s collaboration with Kniep of Blendwerk, and the birth of Synapscape.
Both members of Synapscape also record in the project Monokrom. Münch also has his own project Pmuench, is a member of the collaboration Templegarden’s, and still records under the name The Rorschach Garden.

Synapscape ist ein deutsches Rhythm ’n’ Noise-Musikprojekt von Philipp Münch (Ars Moriendi, Cell Auto Mata, Colony Collapse Disorder, Mandelbrot, Monokrom, Rasputeen In Heavy Leather, Rasputin, Show Of Exaggeration, Templegarden's, The Incredible Three, The Present Moment, The Rorschach Garden) und Tim Kniep (Ars Moriendi, Monokrom, Templegarden's, The Incredible Three) aus Bielefeld.
Das Projekt Synapscape wurde 1994 gegründet. 1995 veröffentlichten sie ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum über ant-zen. Darüber folgten bis 2017 auch alle weiteren Veröffentlichungen. Mit Imminent Starvation / Imminent (Olivier Moreau) veröffentlichten sie zwischen 1998 und 2017 darüber auch mehrere Split-Singles/EPs/Alben. Im Jahr 2006 veröffentlichte Synapscape das Split-Album "Scenes From A Galton's Walk" mit Asche (Andreas Schramm). Am 24. Februar 2012 veröffentlichte die US-amerikanische Death-Metal-Band Morbid Angel das Remixalbum "Illud Divinum Insanus - The Remixes". Synapscape ist mit einem Remix an dem Album beteiligt.
Synapscape spielt häufig auf Musikfestivals. In den Jahren 1998, 2000, 2002 und 2012 spielten sie beim Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig. In den Jahren 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 trat Synapscape zehn Mal beim Maschinenfest auf. Im Jahr 2015 traten sie dabei mit Geso auf. Im August 2000 traten sie beim Infest Festival in Bradford in England auf. In den Jahren 2004, 2007, 2012 und 2016 spielten sie vier Mal beim Elektroanschlag Festival. Im Jahr 2007 dabei mit Imminent (Olivier Moreau). Im September 2007 veröffentlichte Config.Sys das Doppelalbum "Back And Forth" über Pflichtkauf. Darauf ist auch ein Remix von Synapscape enthalten. Im Jahr 2008 trat Synapscape beim Summer Darkness Festival in Utrecht in den Niederlanden auf. Am 4. September 2016 traten sie bei der Nocturnal-Culture-Night auf. Am 27. Oktober 2017 traten Imminent / Synapscape gemeinsam beim Maschinenfest auf.
