(myspace) Omdulö is an experimental folk band from Altenburg, Germany which counts five members. Namely, Annemarie (Hurdy – Gurdy, Flutes), Susanne (Vocals, Flutes), Florian (Guitar, Irish Bouzouki, Nyckelharpa), Lydia (Bodhran, Percussion) and Jan (Drums, Didgeridoo). Their music can be described as a wild mixture of folk tunes, onomatopoetic sounds and a pinch of literature. Presenting the songs of their debut album “waldgeboren” (“Forest Born”) Omdulö was guest on many stages, such as the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig or the Festival Mediaval in Selb, where they have even won the “Newcomer of the Year 2010” Award. Their second album “Menschenmaler” (“Human Painter”) is inspired by the idea of creating human images out of sounds and music and the band cannot wait to let their creations of mind become alive on stage!
(myspace) Omdulö ist eine fünfköpfige „experimental Folk“ Band aus dem thüringischen Altenburg, bestehend aus Annemarie (Drehleier, Flöten), Susanne (Gesang, Flöten) Florian (Gitarre, Bouzouki, Nyckelharpa), Lydia (Bodhran, Percussion) und Jan (Schlagwerk, Didgeridoo). Ihre Musik ist eine Mixtur aus Folk, experimentellen Klängen, Lautmalerei und einer Prise Literatur. Mit ihrem ersten Album "Waldgeboren" (2009) waren sie schon auf vielen Bühnen zu Gast, so beim Wave – Gotik – Treffen in Leipzig, als auch beim Festival Mediaval in Selb, bei welchem sie 2010 sogar den "Goldenen Zwerg", als beste Nachwuchsband der Mittelalter/Folkmusik, gewannen. Ihr zweites Album "Menschenmaler" (2011), hat es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, menschliche Bildnisse mittels Klang und Musik zu erschaffen und Omdulö kann es kaum erwarten, eben diese auf der Bühne zum Leben zu erwecken!
